A modern salt production and processing facility has been inaugurated in Mazar-i-Sharif, Balkh province, with an $8 million investment. The plant is designed to increase domestic processing capacity and create local jobs through expanded packaging and refined output.
The project is part of a broader national effort to reduce reliance on imported salt. Its long-term success will depend on stable energy access and logistics, which are critical for maintaining a reliable production scale in the region.
