Ukraine Cuts Salt Imports by 46%, But Still Relies on Foreign Supply

Ukraine’s salt imports fell nearly 46% in the first half of 2025, yet experts warn that domestic output remains far below pre-war levels. Most imports currently come from Egypt (46%), Turkey (18%), and Romania (13%).

While restoration projects continue at fields in Drohobych and Transcarpathia, the loss of the Artemsil facility continues to impact the market. Consumption typically peaks in summer, leading analysts to predict a potential rise in import figures for the second half of the year.
