Azerbaijan: Salt Production Jumps 25% in January

Azerbaijan reported a salt production of 9,185 tonnes in January 2026, marking a 25.5% increase compared to the same period last year. This surge signals stronger regional supply availability and could influence the domestic market balance and export positioning.

While higher output supports stability for food and industrial sectors, profitability remains sensitive to fluctuating energy and transport costs. If this growth trend persists through the first quarter, Azerbaijani producers may gain significant leverage in international contract negotiations.
