El Musel Port Secures Iceland-Bound Industrial Salt Shipments

Spain’s El Musel port has taken over industrial salt exports to Iceland, previously managed by Galician ports. The first shipment of 2,000 tons, produced by Befesa’s Valladolid plant, was dispatched on June 13 to Nordural’s aluminum facility in Grundartangi.

The specialized salt, rich in potash, is critical in aluminum processing. Befesa is also seeking to expand its Nordic customer base for this high-value industrial product.
