Philippines Launches First ASIN Salt R&D Center

The Philippines has inaugurated its first Accelerating Salt Research and Innovation (ASIN) Center at Pangasinan State University. Backed by government funding, the center aims to revitalize the domestic salt sector and reduce the country’s heavy reliance on imports.

The center will focus on applied research, quality standards, and training to help local producers upgrade their processes. By improving national supply resilience and technical know-how, the initiative seeks to empower small and mid-sized salt operators across the archipelago.
