Kazakhstan has signed a contract for the second phase of its soda ash production plant in the Zhambyl region, set to become the largest facility of its kind in Central Asia.
The 500,000-tonne-per-year plant, backed by Chinese engineering firm CAMCE, aims to replace imports and support exports to neighboring countries. Expected to be operational by 2027, the project is a strategic part of the Belt and Road Initiative, creating skilled jobs and strengthening regional economic ties.
