Palau has signed a memorandum of understanding with Japanese and Taiwanese business leaders to develop a zero-pollution salt industry and promote sustainable wellness tourism. The initiative aims to create a vertically integrated salt operation using Palau’s pristine marine resources.
The project will include salt production, mineral supplements, cosmetics, and spa goods under a sustainable brand. Palauan officials welcomed the plan as part of the country’s effort to attract clean, responsible foreign investment, despite remaining regulatory hurdles.
