A bulk cargo of over 24,000 tonnes of road salt has arrived at the Port of Gdańsk from Casablanca, Morocco. This shipment highlights the ongoing reliance of European winter supply chains on long-haul maritime imports to meet seasonal de-icing demands.
While such inflows help soften regional price spikes, the final market impact depends on inland distribution capacity. With winter demand still elevated in parts of Europe, the focus remains on last-mile delivery efficiency to keep critical infrastructure safe.
