Qatar Restructures Salt JV After Turkish Partner’s Exit

Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding Company (MPHC) has restructured its joint venture Qatar Salt Products Company (QSalt) following the exit of Turkish partner Atlas Yatirim Planlama. The new ownership structure gives MPHC a 60% stake, with the remainder held by Qatari partners QIMC and Qatalum.

The restructured JV will develop a QR1bn salt production facility in Qatarโ€™s Um Al Houl area. Targeting an annual capacity of 1 million tonnes, the plant aims to reduce Qatarโ€™s reliance on imported salt by recovering reject water from RO desalination to produce industrial salts and demineralised water.
