Cambodia: Salt Production Outlook Improves as Prices Recover

Cambodia’s 2026 salt production is projected to reach 80,000 to 100,000 tonnes if favorable weather persists through the harvest season. Early volumes are modest, but the improved outlook has already supported firmer pricing and more confident market sentiment.

While price recovery strengthens producer cash flows, rainfall variability remains the primary risk factor. The number of workable evaporation days will ultimately determine the total availability and the industry’s ability to meet domestic demand.
