China’s Ganfeng Plans $2B Lithium Brine Megaproject

Ganfeng Lithium will merge three Salta brine assets in Argentina into a $2+ billion venture. Partnering with Lithium Argentina, the project targets 150,000 tons per year of lithium carbonate equivalent using hybrid solar evaporation and DLE technology.

The move positions the complex among the world’s largest lithium-salt operations. The project is registered under Argentina’s RIGI scheme, providing significant tax and customs incentives to accelerate development in the “Lithium Triangle.”
