Oman Signs $520M Concession for Large-Scale Sea Salt Production

Oman’s Ministry of Energy and Minerals has signed a $520M concession agreement with Global Integrated Engineering Company to boost sea salt production in the Al Wusta Governorate. The project aims to raise capacity to 1.2 million tons annually through solar evaporation.

As Oman’s third major sea salt initiative, the project aligns with Vision 2040 goals to localize industry, reduce imports, and generate jobs for Omanis across food, feed, and pharmaceutical markets.
