Torrevieja Launches €511K Revamp of Salt Industry Museum

Torrevieja has approved a €511,476 renovation of its Salt Industry Interpretation Center, funded by the EU’s Next Generation plan. The five-month project will transform the historic train station building into a modern museum showcasing global salt extraction techniques.

Designed by Rocamora Arquitectura, the museum will feature immersive audiovisual rooms, illuminated exhibits, and a preserved salt cart. The initiative aims to elevate the city’s salt heritage while boosting tourism through an interactive, educational experience.
