Afghanistan: Salt Refinery Plant to Be Built in Takhar Province

Local authorities in Takhar Province, Afghanistan, have announced plans for a new salt refinery plant with an investment of AFN 45 million. The facility will focus on processing locally extracted raw salt into higher-value refined products.

Construction is expected to begin shortly, with a completion target within 2026. Once operational, the refinery is expected to strengthen the region’s industrial base, increase domestic processing capacity, and create new employment opportunities.
