Construction of the new salt processing plant in Colcha K, Potosí, has reached 86% physical progress. With an investment of Bs 13.8 million, the facility will produce 3,618 tons annually of fine table, barbecue, and granulated salt.
Using semi-automated processing and raw material from the Salar de Uyuni, the plant aims to replace imports from Argentina. The project is a key part of Bolivia’s national industrialization policy focused on import substitution.
