China: 20,000-Tonne Lithium Brine Line Reaches Capacity

A production line in Qinghai, China, extracting lithium from salt-lake brine, has reached its target capacity of 20,000 tonnes. This process is designed to reduce lithium losses compared to conventional solar evaporation and shorten the production cycle for battery-grade lithium carbonate.

This innovation in brine-based supply aims to strengthen supply reliability and cost competitiveness. As the EV and stationary storage markets expand, such yield improvements at scale are becoming central to the global battery supply chain.
