Colima Hits Historic 47,000-Ton Salt Harvest

Colima’s salt producers have achieved a record harvest of 47,000 tons, surpassing last year’s total by 10,000 tons despite missing their original target due to seasonal rains. The volume is sufficient to supply both domestic markets—including León, Guadalajara, and Michoacán—and international clients, particularly in the United States.

According to the Cooperative Society of Salineros de Colima, this output will cover demand until April 2026, when the next harvest cycle is set to begin.
