Philippines Charts Salt Industry Revival

The Philippine Salt Industry Council held its inaugural meeting under Republic Act No. 11985—the Philippine Salt Industry Development Act—marking a major step in revitalizing the sector. Government agencies, cooperatives, and private stakeholders convened to outline a national roadmap for developing both food-grade and industrial salt. The Council will oversee policy coordination, strategic planning, and investment guidance to strengthen local production and reduce import dependency.
