Saudi Arabia Expands Salt Mining with New Licenses

Saudi Arabia issued 22 new mining exploitation licenses in H1 2025, a 144% increase year-on-year. Projected annual output includes key industrial minerals such as salt, silica sand, and gypsum.

Total investments for these projects surpassed SAR 134 million. The expansion supports Vision 2030 goals to establish mining as a core pillar of economic diversification and attract more private investment into the sector.
