Syria Opens First Pharmaceutical-Salt Production Line

Syria’s Health Minister Musab al-Ali announced the opening of the country’s first production line for pharmaceutical-grade salts in the Damascus countryside. The facility has an annual capacity of approximately 1,000 tons, aimed at reducing dependence on medical imports.

The project targets the domestic supply of critical inputs such as saline solutions and dialysis treatments. This move signals a shift toward tighter quality standardization and predictable public procurement for Syria’s medical sector.
