Ukraine Strengthens Western Salt Production

Following the revival of the Dolynske deposit, Ukraine continues to reorient its salt output toward western regions like Stebnyk and Tereblya. While these sites mostly produce technical-grade salt, Drohobych remains the primary source for domestic table salt through traditional brine evaporation.

Despite these efforts, imports remain essential to meet national demand as major eastern reserves remain inaccessible. As of August 2025, retail salt prices reflect this dependence, with imported varieties reaching up to 30 UAH per kilogram.
