PROSALT · Salt Washing Plant

How it works

Separates washed salt from water and recovers particles that could otherwise leave with the water stream, limiting salt loss and improving recovery.

Its place in the process

The sieve separates free liquid from washed salt and provides a recovery point for particles in the water stream. Screen selection is coordinated with upstream cyclones and any subsequent centrifuge to avoid moving a bottleneck from one stage to another.

Engineering inputs

Specify the right configuration

Equipment selection starts with your material, the required product and the available site conditions. Share the operating range and layout with PROSALT so the interfaces, dimensions and final specification can be defined for your project.

  • Feed solids loading and particle size distribution

  • Screen aperture and target liquid removal

  • Discharge moisture, drainage and cleaning access

Final materials, dimensions, drive power and operating targets are defined in the project specification. Product images illustrate the equipment family.

Equipment questions

Does a dewatering sieve replace a thermal dryer?

It removes free liquid mechanically. Reaching a lower finished-product moisture may require centrifugal dewatering and thermal drying, depending on the product specification.

Can this equipment be integrated into an existing salt plant?

A retrofit is assessed from the existing process flow, material analysis, available dimensions and utility connections. The upstream and downstream equipment must be reviewed together before the scope is agreed.
