How it works

A rotating mechanism mixes the salt and liquid homogeneously to support the removal of remaining impurities.

Its place in the process

Mixing prepares the salt and liquid stream for subsequent separation. Consistent incoming solids loading and liquid supply help the following hydrocyclone and recovery equipment receive a more uniform feed.

Engineering inputs

Specify the right configuration

Equipment selection starts with your material, the required product and the available site conditions. Share the operating range and layout with PROSALT so the interfaces, dimensions and final specification can be defined for your project.

  • Salt-to-liquid ratio and feed variability

  • Impurity characteristics and mixing duty

  • Transfer level and connection to separation equipment

Final materials, dimensions, drive power and operating targets are defined in the project specification. Product images illustrate the equipment family.

Equipment questions

Is the mixer cyclone the same as a hydrocyclone?

They have different roles in this line. The mixer prepares a homogeneous stream, while the hydrocyclone uses centrifugal separation. Their duties should be specified separately in the process layout.

Can this equipment be integrated into an existing salt plant?

A retrofit is assessed from the existing process flow, material analysis, available dimensions and utility connections. The upstream and downstream equipment must be reviewed together before the scope is agreed.
