SALT PROCESSING EQUIPMENT
Hydrocyclone Separator
Density-based separation uses centrifugal force to remove heavier particles such as sand and clay from the brine mixture.
Discuss this equipment
PROSALT · Salt Washing Plant
How it works
Density-based separation uses centrifugal force to remove heavier particles such as sand and clay from the brine mixture. A cleaner stream helps reduce blockages and maintain process flow.
Its place in the process
The hydrocyclone belongs to the wet separation circuit. Feed pressure, particle size and density differences influence the split between the outlet streams, so both outlets and the brine return need to be integrated into the material balance.

Specify the right configuration
Equipment selection starts with your material, the required product and the available site conditions. Share the operating range and layout with PROSALT so the interfaces, dimensions and final specification can be defined for your project.
Particle size and density of salt and impurities
Slurry concentration and available feed pressure
Overflow, underflow and brine return arrangements
Final materials, dimensions, drive power and operating targets are defined in the project specification. Product images illustrate the equipment family.
Technical reference
Equipment for a 50 t/h plant
These dimensions and specifications refer to equipment used in a 50 t/h plant. Every PROSALT plant is custom engineered; dimensions, materials, motor power and quantities may vary with the project. Request the current catalogue for up-to-date technical specifications.

Equipment questions
What determines hydrocyclone separation performance?
Particle distribution, density contrast, solids concentration and operating pressure all matter. Feed analysis and, when needed, trials are used to set a suitable separation target.
Can this equipment be integrated into an existing salt plant?
A retrofit is assessed from the existing process flow, material analysis, available dimensions and utility connections. The upstream and downstream equipment must be reviewed together before the scope is agreed.
