Washing Screw Conveyor

PROSALT · Salt Washing Plant

How it works

High-pressure water spraying washes dust and similar impurities from raw salt. Its durable construction supports continuous washing and straightforward maintenance.

Its place in the process

The washing screw combines salt transfer with contact between the crystals and the washing liquid. Its discharge is coordinated with mixing and separation, and the liquid circuit must be included in the plant water balance.

Specify the right configuration

Equipment selection starts with your material, the required product and the available site conditions. Share the operating range and layout with PROSALT so the interfaces, dimensions and final specification can be defined for your project.

  • Feed particle distribution and impurity profile

  • Washing liquid quality, pressure and circulation

  • Residence conditions and downstream separation capacity

Final materials, dimensions, drive power and operating targets are defined in the project specification. Product images illustrate the equipment family.

Equipment questions

How is salt loss during washing addressed?

The washing liquid, contact conditions and recovery stages must be considered together. A material balance helps identify dissolution and fines losses before the final line configuration is agreed.

Can this equipment be integrated into an existing salt plant?

A retrofit is assessed from the existing process flow, material analysis, available dimensions and utility connections. The upstream and downstream equipment must be reviewed together before the scope is agreed.
